Deb Chachra
Scientist, author and thought leader
Her work explores the intersection of infrastructure, equity, and the future of technology, reflecting on how the systems that sustain modern life - water, energy, transportation, and digital networks - shape societies.
She is the author of “How Infrastructure Works: Inside the Systems That Shape Our World”, which has been widely praised for making the invisible visible and inspiring a new appreciation for the critical role infrastructure plays in both enabling and limiting our collective future. She has written for The Atlantic, Wired, The New York Times, and other leading publications, covering topics ranging from engineering education to digital culture.
She holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a professor at Olin College of Engineering.

David H. Petraeus

General David H. Petraeus (US Army, Ret.) is a member of the boards of directors of Optiv and OneStream, a Strategic Advisor for Sempra and Advanced Navigation, a personal venture investor, an academic, and the co-author (with Andrew Roberts) of “Conflict: The Evolution of Warfare from 1945 to Ukraine”.
He is the Kissinger Fellow at Yale University’s Jackson School, Co-Chairman of the Global Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, Vice President of the Royal United Services Institute, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Aspen Strategy Group, and the Atlantic Council, among others.
General Petraeus graduated with distinction from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and he also earned a Ph.D. in international relations and economics from Princeton University. He has taught at the U.S. Military Academy, the City University of New York, and the University of Southern California, as well as working as a research fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center.

Michael Smith
Partner and Co-head of Ares Global Credit Group
Mr. Smith is part of Ares's Operating Committee and serves as director and co-chairman of the Board of Directors of Ares Capital Corporation, where he was co-chairman from 2014 to 2022 and executive vice president from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, he is a trustee and co-chief executive officer of Ares Strategic Income Fund and vice president of CION Ares Diversified Credit Fund. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Ivy Hill Asset Management GP, LLC.
Before joining Ares in 2004, he was a partner at RBC Capital Partners, a division of the Royal Bank of Canada, where he led middle-market financing and equity investments for the firm. Prior to this, he worked at Indosuez Capital in the investment banking group, at Kenter, Glastris & Company, and at Salomon Brothers in debt markets and financial services.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Scott Kleinman
Co-President of Apollo Asset Management
Scott Kleinman co-leads Apollo’s day-to-day operations including all of Apollo’s revenue-generating businesses and enterprise solutions across its integrated alternative investment platform. He joined Apollo in 1996, and, in 2009, he was appointed Lead Partner for Private Equity, prior to being named Co-President in 2018. Mr. Kleinman also serves on Apollo’s Executive Committee.
Before joining Apollo, Mr. Kleinman was a member of the Investment Banking division at Smith Barney Inc. He currently serves on the board of directors of Apollo Global Management, Inc. and Athora Holding. In 2014, he founded the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Board of Advisors at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the Board of Directors at the White Plains Hospital.
Mr. Kleinman received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSc. from the Wharton School of Business.

Pippa Malmgren
Former U.S. Presidential Advisor and Technology Entrepreneur
Dr. Malmgren studies the global economy and geopolitics. Her specialty is understanding the nexus between geopolitics, tech innovation, strategic security and markets. She is a Strategic Advisor to C10 Labs, the MIT Media Lab based AI Venture Studio.
She was an advisor to President George W. Bush and was part of The National Economic Council. She served on the President’s Working Group on Corporate Governance and The President’s Working Group on Financial Markets. Before joining the White House, she ran the Bankers Trust Asset Management business in Asia and then served as the Global Chief Currency Strategist. She was then named the Deputy Head of Global Strategy at UBS. From 2017 to 2019, she advised the British Cabinet on trade issues as a Board Member for The Department for International Trade.
She has a B.A. from Mount Vernon College and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics (LSE). She completed the Harvard Program on National Security. Her most recent bestseller, The Infinite Leader, won the International Press Award for the Best Book on Leadership for 2021. Her book, The Leadership Lab, was named Business Book of the Year and Best Book on Leadership in 2019 and won the International Press Award 2020.
